Churchlands-based Navitas Ltd said today that the establishment of its program for international students at McMaster University College in Canada has been delayed due to further discussions at the university.
The company, which was formerly known as IBT Education, said in an announcement that the commencement of the college will be in 2009 as there will be insufficient time to allow for a September 2008 start.
Navitas is a global education service provider that offers educational services for students and professionals including university programs, language training, workforce education and student recruitment.
DELAY IN EXECUTION OF MCMASTER UNIVERSITY COLLEGE AGREEMENT
Further to its ASX release dated 15 January 2008, Navitas Limited (ASX: NVT) today announced that, due to ongoing consultation processes and further internal discussions occurring at McMaster University, execution of the agreement with McMaster University to establish McMaster University College has been delayed. This delay will mean the commencement date of the College will now be in 2009 as there will be insufficient time to allow for a September 2008 start.

Further to its ASX release dated 28 November 2007, Navitas Limited (formerly IBT Education Limited) (ASX: NVT) today announced that at a meeting held on 13 December 2007, the Board of Governors of McMaster University passed the following resolution:
"That the Senate and Board of Governors approve in principle the establishment of a University Transfer Program for international students at McMaster University College subject to Senate approval of the curriculum and final approval of the contractual agreement between McMaster University and IBT Canada Holdings Limited."
Navitas anticipates that Senate approval will be obtained on or about 13 February 2008 and the agreement will be signed on or about 6 March 2008.
