Mining and civil contractor NRW Holdings has secured $148 million of work with Fortescue Metals Group, less than a fortnight after signing a $129 million contract with BHP Billiton.
The FMG work includes a $70 million contract for the construction of 28km of earthworks for the Solomon Spur rail project.
A $70 million extension to its Solomon early mining services contract includes construction of a tailings storage dam facility.
The works will be undertaken with its joint venture partners, Eastern Guruma and NYFL Foundation.
A third contract, at FMG’s Christmas Creek mine, is to be undertaken by NRW subsidiary Action Drill & Blast, and is worth $8.5 million.
Last month, NRW said it had won a $129 million contract for BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s Port Hedland inner harbour expansion.
The scope of works includes earthworks, ground improvements, and rail and concrete installation to expand the existing stockyards.
The contract has a duration of 16 months and a peak workforce of 140, NRW said.
