Mustera enlists international architects WOHA for Applecross

Acclaimed international architecture group WOHA has landed in Perth, providing design works for Mustera Property Group’s $105 million Forbes Residences proposal in Applecross.

Mustera recently lodged its plans to build a 19-level, 98-apartment complex on adjacent properties bounded by 10-14 Forbes Road and 40 Kishorn Road in Applecross.

The project will be assessed by planning authorities in coming months.

Singapore-based WOHA is known internationally for its commitment to natural greenery in its design, and is behind award-winning projects in Singapore such as PARKROYAL on Pickering, and 443 Queen Street, a subtropical high-rise under construction in Brisbane.

Mustera executive director Nicholas Zborowski said the project was designed to shift the way Western Australian’s perceived apartment living.

“This project is a game-changer,” Mr Zborowski said. “With its curved façade, abundant natural greenery and wealth of spaces for living, playing and relaxing, Forbes Residences redefines apartment living in Perth.”

Amenities on offer in the building include 412 square meters of co-working space, which can also be used for public meetings, lectures and exhibitions, a community garden, retail and food and beverage tenancies and public end-of-trip facilities.

Architect Richard Hassell said the project comprised a series of three-storey ‘vertical neighbourhoods’.

“There will be spaces for escaping to, for catching up with friends in, or maybe doing some consulting work or reading a book,” Mr Hassell said.

“Residents can continue the daily routine they enjoyed in suburban life, but in the sky.”

ASX-listed Mustera has invited potential buyers ahead of an official project launch in February next year.

Pending relevant approvals, work could start at the end of next year with first residents moving into the building in 2021.
