AS the successful ‘Picasso to Warhol: Fourteen Modern Masters’ closes, the Art Gallery of Western Australia’s MoMA Series will next year bring the second exhibition from New York’s Museum of Modern Art to Perth.
More than 100,000 visitors passed through the gallery’s doors to view the 120 modern masterpieces.
Culture and the Arts Minister John Day said that while it was sad to see the first instalment go, the next series promised to be a perfect complement. “Opening on Australia Day, ‘Picturing New York: Photographs from The Museum of Modern Art’ is set to attract visitors to the gallery who not only have a passion for photography or New York, but those who are also curious to know more about either,” Mr Day said.
