Monadelphous has secured further work with BHP’s Western Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) division to refurbish a car dumper at the Nelson Point facility in Port Hedland before the end of the year, as well as extend the haul road at BHP’s Jimblebar mine, located 41 kilometres east of Newman.
Work under the second contract is expected to be completed before June 30 next year.
Monadelphous, led by managing director Rob Velletri, has also secured the construction works associated with Rio Tinto’s Marandoo dewatering sump project.
Meanwhile, Monadelphous – through its SinoStruct fabrication business – has signed a four-year agreement with Origin Energy to supply equipment to the Australia Pacific LNG plant in Gladstone, Queensland.
SinoStruct has been supplying packaged and modularised equipment to Origin Energy since 2015.
Also in Gladstone, Monadelphous has been awarded with a new, three-year contract to continue providing mechanical maintenance services at Queensland Alumina’s operations.
Further, an existing agreement with BHP Mitsubishi Alliance involving shutdown and maintenance services in the Bowen Basin has been extended by 10 months.
In Chile, Monadelphous’ Buildtek business has been contracted to develop a new underground section of the El Teniente copper mine in Rancagua for state-owned mining company Codelco.
Work is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023.
Monadelphous, which has secured at least $565 million in contracts since the start of the year, was recently appointed to Codelco's Chuquicamata underground mine in Calama and BHP's Escondida copper mine in Coloso.
The contractor is also completing work on BHP's Olympic Dam operations in South Australia.
Shares in Monadelphous remain unchanged at 2:03pm AEST to trade at $11.11.
