Monadelphous, Wood Group win work

Engineering contractors Monadelphous Group and Wood Group have secured new contracts with Woodside Petroleum and ConocoPhillips to service existing oil & gas facilities.

In a 70:30 joint venture with Giovenco Industries, Monadelphous will provide planning and execution of mechanical, electrical, access, fire protection application, blasting, painting, cladding and insulation services at the Woodside-operated Karratha gas plant.

Work under the contract is scheduled to begin early next year and run for a two-year period.

Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said the contract represented another major milestone for the company’s oil and gas services business.

“It demonstrates our reputation as a partner of choice in the provision of LNG services,” Mr Velletri said.

“Monadelphous has a long-term commitment to the Karratha region and we are particularly pleased to be selected together with our joint venture partner Giovenco as a services provider for this important program of works.”

Meanwhile, UK-based Wood Group said its subsidiary Wood Group PSN has been contracted by ConocoPhillips to deliver brownfield engineering services to the Bayu-Undan field south-west of Timor-Leste, and the Darwin LNG plant at Wickham Point.

In a statement, Wood Group said contract personnel would be based onshore in Perth and in Timor-Leste.

“The contract also covers associated floating, storage and offloading facilities and subsea pipelines,” it said.

A Perth-based team from Wood Group Kenny will supply subsea engineering expertise.

Monadelphous shares were 0.4 per cent higher to $6.10 each just before the close of trade.
