Metronet surveying panel chosen

The state government has awarded consultancies Rawlinsons WA and Turner & Townsend cost estimating contracts for Metronet worth a combined $3.8 million.

Both companies have been selected for a quantity surveyor and cost estimation panel, with Public Transport Authority contracts worth about $1.9 million each.

The panel will assist with the planning and development of stage one of Metronet, including the Morley-Ellenbrook line, Karnup station, the new Midland station and the Byford extension, among others.

The government received 10 submissions for the panel contracts. 

Rawlinsons has completed a number of projects for the PTA, including the Northern Suburbs Transit System and the Perth to Mandurah railway.

Turner & Townsend was awarded a $369,000 contract for cost estimation services on the Forrestfield Airport Link, which includes three new stations, earlier this year.

Engineering consultancy GHD  was recently awarded a $6.7 million contract to design upgrades to the rail network around Claremont train station as part of the Metronet project.
