Property developer David McKenzie has been cleared of knowingly giving false evidence to the Crime and Corruption Commission over the controversial Smiths Beach development.
In the Perth Magistrates Court Magistrate Paul Heaney dismissed two charges against Mr McKenzie that he knowingly gave false evidence to the CCC at a 2006 hearing into the Smiths Beach affair.
Mr McKenzie's company Canal Rocks wants to develop beach, near Yallingup.
"I am pleased this matter is over, it has been a long and often difficult road involving a trial that lasted eight exhausting days," Mr McKenzie said in a statement.
"I was never in doubt I would be acquitted because I know that when questioned I did my utmost to answer all questions truthfully in accordance with the oath I took," he said.
"I am grateful for the unwavering and unconditional support of my wife, children, friends and business associates.
"I am also hopeful that the court's decision will resolve any question of doubt that some people may have experienced and that my reputation has been restored," said Mr McKenzie.
