Former iiNet boss and 40under40 winner Michael Malone has joined the advisory board of specialist investor relations advisory firm Market Eye.
Market Eye has advised iiNet on its investor relations for the past six years.
Earlier this year, Mr Malone resigned from his position as managing director of the ASX-listed internet service provider he founded in his parents' garage in 1993. He has since joined the board of Hong Kong-based satellite service provider Speedcast as a non-executive director, and continues to sit on the Scitech board.
Mr Malone was named First Amongst Equals at the 2006 Business News 40under40 awards.
He joins former Railcorp NSW and Turner & Townsend chairman Ross Bunyon, Metcash director and former investment banker Michael Butler, and Steadfast Group non-executive director Anne O'Driscoll on the advisory board of Market Eye, which entered the Perth market in early 2013.
"Michael’s belief in superior customer service and product leadership were key drivers to iiNet’s growth,’’ Market Eye Perth director David Brook said.
‘‘With these same values at the core of Market Eye, his experience in building iiNet will complement the advisory board as Market Eye further grows across the investor relations advisory and technology space in Australia and offshore."
Mr Brook was appointed to head the firm's West Perth office, which now has three employees, at the start of the year. He was previously group manager investor relations and external affairs at Calibre Group and is a former diplomat with the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
