A WESTERN Australian geospatial software developer has won an Asia Pacific award for its software warning system, which helps protect infrastructure during major emergencies and natural disasters. Burswood-based iintegrate Systems’ flagship product, Indji Watch, won the innovation and commercialisation category at the 2008 Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards held recently in Canberra. iintegrate Systems, a subsidiary of spatial consultancy group NGIS Australia, was founded in 2004 to develop and commercialise spatial software. Indji Watch provides real-time responses for emergency management when disasters such as earthquakes, bushfires and electrical storms strike. iintegrated Systems product manager Mark Carniello hopes the software, which originated with Western Power prior to its segregation, would be utilised to help protect WA’s infrastructure.
