Perth-based EMC Solar has appointed Alannah MacTiernan to its board of directors after acquiring interests in clean energy firms HAC Australia and Clear Energy.
EMC said the acquisitions and appointment of Ms MacTiernan would contribute to its plan to become a significant player in the clean energy sector.
Last month Ms MacTiernan was appointed business development manager at EMC.
HAC was established in 2007 to help industry and government prepare for a carbon constrained future.
It has principal offices in Melbourne, Perth and Kalgoorlie.
"HAC is a growing business that has established a strong reputation for innovation and project delivery in the clean energy and energy efficiency sectors", EMC chief executive John Davidson said.

Clear Energy holds a Western Australian electricity retail licence.
EMC said the acquisition would enable vertical integration with EMC's clean energy generation assets, improving the efficiency of electricity trade and lowering the costs for commercial customers.
Terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed.
