Pilbara Mines Limited has announced the contract tender for relocation of the Cadjebut treatment plant to the Jaguar Project has been awarded to Minesite and Industrial Relocation (MIR) for $1.68 million.
The lump-sum contract involves the disassembly and relocation from Cadjebut to Jaguar in the north-eastern Goldfields of the processing plant, conveyors, water lines, power lines, powerhouse, camp, workshop and offices.
The three-month relocation project will commence on July 19.
The company is bullish about its prospects at Jaguar following high-grade drilling results earlier this month for copper, zinc and silver.
Following these results, Pilbara has also commenced diamond drilling with the extent of the follow up drill program to be determined by the end of July.
In April and May of this year, Pilbara divested itself of the remainder of its telecommunications interests (which it diversified into through Request Broadband in 2000) for $3.4 million so that it could focus on mining.
The company then bought the processing plant to be used at Jaguar from Teck Cominco WA for $1.4 million.
The 100 per cent owned Jaguar deposit contains an estimated resource of 1.87 million tonnes grading, 3.2 per cent copper, 11 per cent zinc and 114 grams of silver.
Jaguar is envisaged as a $40 million underground mine development expected to produce about 10,000 tonnes of copper, 24,000t of zinc and one million ounces of silver.
It’s expected a feasibility study will be completed later this year.
