LOCAL design studio Design by Marco Dabala won two gold medals at the 2001 National Print Awards for work produced for Argyle Diamonds and Environmental Solutions International.
Design by Marco Dabala director Marco Dabala claims the success of the local design company has been driven by a relentless quest for perfection.
“We demand perfection. That’s what’s we’ve built our name on and that’s why we’ve won these awards,” Mr Dabala said.
For Frank Daniels, the print company responsible for both projects, these awards recognise technical excellence in printing.
“We really push our suppliers to the max and we can compete at a national and international level,” Mr Dabala said.
The 2001 National Print Awards, the major annual event for the Australian Graphic Arts Industry, received 1,307 entries across 40 categories.
Both of the winning publications initially won gold at the Printing Industry Craftmanship Awards in Western Australia before being entered into the national awards.
Design by Marco Dabala works almost exclusively with corporate clients in Perth .
Argyle Diamonds has been a client for nearly 10 years.
The annual calendar features images of outstanding Argyle Diamonds and is sent out to diamond connoisseurs all over the world.
“There are only 1,000 produced every year and they are so sought after customers ring to get one,” Mr Dabala said.
