Uranium explorer Energia Minerals has recruited Kagara founder Kim Robinson as its managing director.
Mr Robinson will commence his new role at the end of April, a little over a year after stepping down as executive chairman of base metals miner Kagara.
Kagara operated successfully for more than a decade but in more recent times has suffered a sharp fall in investor support after being hit by weak base metals prices, high debt and operational issues.
Mr Robinson remains a non-executive director of Kagara.
He is also a director of Carbon Energy and chairman of struggling gold miner Apex Minerals, but plans to step down from those roles.
Prior to found Kagara, he had been executive chairman of Forrestania Gold for 10 years.
Energia chairman Tony Iannello said the board was extremely pleased to secure the services of someone of Mr Robinson's calibre.
Energia's main focus is the Carley Bore uranium deposit, near Onslow.
