Mining copany Kagara has announced a management succession, with chairman Kim Robinson moving to a non-executive role and Newcrest Mining executive Geoff Day recruited as the new managing director.
Mining company Kagara has announced a management succession, with chairman Kim Robinson moving to a non-executive role and Newcrest Mining executive Geoff Day recruited as the new managing director.
Mr Day is currently the Executive General Manager at Newcrest Mining, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, Mr Day has held senior executive and operational positions with Rio Tinto and Lihir Gold in the past.
Kagara's executive director Joe Treacy will retain his current role and chief financial officer Flavio Garofalo will join the board as finance director.
Current Queensland operations manager Mr Graeme Collins will become chief operating officer for Kagara.
The company said Mr Robinson's continuation as chairman and Mr Treacy's continuation in an executive capacity was part of a strategy to ensure a smooth transition while enabling the company to continue to benefit from the pair's experience.
