Infinity Mining has produced a maiden mineral resource estimate of 60,300 ounces of gold and a solid exploration target estimate for its Central Goldfields project in WA’s Leonora gold district.
The exploration target estimate points to the scale of potentially discoverable mineralisation in just two of the company’s seven prospects and ranges from 116,000 ounces at an average of 2.2g/t gold to a maximum of 592,000 ounces at an average grade of 3.7 g/t gold.
The project comprises a portfolio of ten mining and prospecting licenses making up seven separate prospects broadly scattered across an area that extends for about 60km north-west of Leonora in Western Australia.
The company drilled a total of 37 reverse circulation holes across several of its prospects last year to downhole depths ranging from 78m to 132m, with sampling undertaken at 1m intervals, yielding a total of 2286 samples which were dispatched to Perth for gold analysis.
Management says its maiden inferred mineral resource estimate of 1.33 million tonnes at an average grade of 1.41 g/t gold for 60,300 ounces has been compiled from the company’s drilling and other data at its Craig’s Rest and Victor Bore prospects, which are separated by about 55km.
At Craig’s Rest, three resource trends contribute to the inferred resource evaluation, Garden Well, Katalina and a third unnamed trend.
Recent drilling at Garden Well shows grades and widths of greater than 3m going 6g/t gold and associated trends have a strike of about 830m.
The Katalina trend shows significant high-grade widths of over 2m going 26.6 g/t gold.
Management says geophysics, geochemistry and satellite imagery has defined additional mineralised trends in the Craig’s Rest prospect with a combined strike of over 800m.
At Craig’s Rest, the company defined an exploration target estimate in the range of 1.55 million tonnes at 2.2 g/t gold for 104,000 ounces to 4.66 million tonnes at 3.7g/t for 540,000 ounces.
At Victor Bore, which also contributes to the inferred resource, management says the current resource has additional potential along strike but is somewhat restricted by tenement boundaries. Drilling has defined near surface extensions in the range of 1.5 to 2.2 g/t gold and other extensions under current resources in a grade range of 3.9 to 6.0 g/t gold.
At Victor Bore, the company defined an exploration target estimate in the range of 180,000 tonnes at 2.2g/t gold for 12,600 ounces and 490,000 tonnes at 3.4g/t gold for 52,000 ounces of gold.
The company’s inferred resource estimate combined with its sizeable exploration target for just two prospects and numerous but isolated gold hits in drilling at its other prospects so far suggest good potential exists for additional gold resources in the remainder of its extensive portfolio in its Central Goldfields project area.
