Hunt appointed to chair Bis

Resources logistics company Bis has appointed former Broadspectrum chief executive Graeme Hunt as its new chairman to replace the retiring Charles Lenegan, while non-executive director John Beevers is also retiring.

Mr Hunt currently chairs AGL Energy, having previously led construction company Broadspectrum from 2012 to 2016.

He also held a number of senior executive positions at BHP Billiton, including iron ore president from 1999 until 2006.

Non-executive director Ian Jackson welcomed Mr Hunt to the board.

“Graeme brings a wealth of mining experience and we look forward to working with him and CEO Brad Rogers over the coming years,” Mr Jackson said.

Mr Lenegan retires having served as Bis chairman for the past five years, while Mr Beevers has been a non-executive director for the same time period.

Mr Jackson thanked the pair for their service to Bis.

“We would also like to thank Charlie and John for their extraordinary contributions to the development of Bis over the past few years,” Mr Jackson said.

“They leave Bis in very good shape, having positioned the company for future growth.”

Bis said it had appointed chief financial officer Steve Simpson as interim executive director as the company searched for a permanent replacement.
