Hillcrest seeking share of Wright payout

Litigation funder Hillcrest Litigation Services Ltd said today it was endeavouring to reach an agreement with client Julian Wright following the multi-million dollar settlement of the court case involving Mr Wright's family.

Mr Wright's two children recently settled their dispute over iron ore royalties with Mr Wright's siblings, Michael Wright and Angela Bennett.

That resulted in a second litiagtion funder, IMF Australia Ltd, saying its share of the children's payout would be $22 million.

Hillcrest confirmed today that its funding agreement with Mr Wright remains on foot and that it is entitled to receive a payment pursuant to that agreeemnt.

"HLS is presently endavouring to reach agreement with Mr Wright as to the amount to which HLS is entitled," it said in a statement.
