Hesperia launches residential estate, net zero pledge

Adrian Fini and Ben Lisle led property developer Hesperia has launched its first master-planned community in Viveash, as it signs a zero carbon commitment as part of the Glasgow climate summit.

Hesperia bought a 52 hectare site in Viveash, in Perth’s east, in August 2020 where it plans to develop 650 residential lots.

The former Midland Brick site will be home to the developer’s first masterplannned community, which is expected to have an end value of $200 million.

Hesperia development director Jo Bennett said registrations of interest were currently taking place for the estate.

“Rivermark offers the opportunity to be part of the next chapter: the creation of an exciting new community within an established suburb,” she said.

“It is a rare opportunity we are excited to deliver.”

Net zero commitment

Hesperia has signed a zero carbon pledge as part of the UN climate change conference in Glasgow, committing to all its buildings being capable of net zero operation by 2030.

As part of its role on the World Green Building Council, Hesperia has promised to reduce carbon emissions during construction and offset its residual emissions.

This means that through all its developments, Hesperia will aim to reduce and offset carbon emissions.

National developer Frasers Property Australia also committed to own, occupy and develop only assets that are net zero carbon by 2028, via the World Green Building Council.

In June this year, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation poured $95 million into Hesperia’s Roe Highway Logistics Park.
