Geoff Hayward will open the doors to the renovated Brisbane Hotel on November 18.
Mr Hayward, who is a co-owner of Bar One and also owns Highgate nightspot Luxe, has spent the past few months creating his latest masterpiece. The premises have been gutted, extended, and renovated to a modern style that is synonymous with Mr Hayward and his architect Graham Taylor. Marcus McQueen has been appointed as general manager. Gusto will reveal the new look in coming issues.
Channel 7 is busy recruiting a new batch of restaurateurs for its second series of My Restaurant Rules, which is expected to screen early next year. Gusto is unsure of how many couples have made the shortlist (last year there were about 30), however final casting will take place on November 8, with a decision expected shortly after.

Public outcry over a Geraldton Council decision to reject an alfresco application by Topolini’s Caffe has resulted in its original decision being overturned.
At a meeting last week the council rescinded its earlier decision and Topolini’s Caffe will now be permitted to use two car bays at the front of the restaurant for customers who want to eat their dinner on tables and chairs outside.
