Graham Anderson passes away

Company director and accountant Graham Anderson, who held positions with about 10 listed companies, has passed away after suffering a heart attack yesterday.

The 53 year old was at home with his family on Sunday morning when he passed away.

Colleagues expressed shock at the sudden death of Mr Anderson, who was in Melbourne last week planning to expand his GDA Corporate practice to the east coast.

He established West Perth-based GDA in 1999 after a career with EY and BDO.

His current roles included non-executive chairman of Gulf Manganese Corporation, Kangaroo Resources and Oakajee Corporation, and non-executive director of Mako Hydrocarbons and Pegasus Metals.

Mako executive chairman Simon Owen expressed his deepest sympathy and support to the Anderson family.

“Graham was an invaluable colleague and a better friend to all those that had the good fortune to be involved with him,” Mr Owen said.

“He will be hugely missed by a great many.”

Kangaroo managing director Ian Ogilvie said Mr Anderson’s contribution to the company had been extremely valuable and appreciated by all, and he would be greatly missed.

Gulf Manganese deputy chairman Peter Williams said Mr Anderson was instrumental in establishing strong corporate procedures for the new board as the company prepared its subsidiary International Manganese Group for a listing on the Singapore stock exchange.

“As chairman, Graham gave highly valued, erudite and supportive guidance to the board and management,” he said.

“On behalf of the company and our shareholders we express deepest sympathy to Graham’s family.

“His cheeky smile and happy disposition will be greatly missed.”

Mr Anderson had also been company secretary of multiple listed companies, including Bathurst Resources, Baobab Resources, Iron Road and Padbury Mining.
