Perfekt and Data#3 are among a host of ICT companies to have secured six state government contracts collectively worth more than $10 million.
Melbourne-based Perfekt has been awarded a five-year, $4.8 million contract to provide platforms, support and maintenance services for Hitachi products for the health sector.
The contract applies to Hitachi equipment used at the Fujitsu Australia data centres in Malaga and Perth, and at Perth Children’s Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital.
General manager Craig Tamlin, who heads Perfekt’s West Perth office, credited the contract win to the firm’s deep expertise in specialist areas.
As well as ICT infrastructure, Perfekt specialises in data analytics and cyber security.
Mr Tamlin said many of Perfekt’s staff previously worked for vendors such as Hitachi, IBM, HPE, Quantum, EMC and Veritas.
“We bring to bear highly skilled resources and specialist expertise,” he said.
“We’re a privately-owned firm and that has helped us build a long-term stable team.”
ASX-listed Data#3 has been awarded two contracts this month, including a three-year, $2 million contract to supply Microsoft software.
The contract is separated into two components – a whole-of-government enterprise agreement and a separate education and training sector contract for specific education solutions.
Under the three-year contract, Data#3 will be the sole provider of Microsoft software to the Western Australian government.
Data#3 has also been awarded a four-year, $1.2 million contract to provide Dell EMC data domain virtual edition licences for the Department of Education.
Data#3 WA general manager Kingsley McGarrigle said its Perth office was going from strength to strength.
“The investment we’ve placed in our people is directly passed onto our customers through innovative solutions,” he said.
“These contract wins are a direct result of this investment and the expertise we deliver.”
The Department of Education has awarded two other ICT contracts over the past couple of months.
Winthrop Australia, an Apple reseller operating from the University of Western Australia student guild, and Acer Computer Australia, have shared a $1.9 million contract to supply notebook computers to school teachers.
Atos Australia has been awarded a $997,000 contract to provide an internet connection service to the department.
