Georgiou wins $53m contract

Georgiou Group has secured a contract by Ramsay Health Care to deliver Hollywood Private Hospital’s south block and administration upgrade.

The work, worth $53 million, includes the design and construction of a new emergency department and three 30-bed wards at Ramsay Health Care’s Nedlands campus, including tenancies, expansion of the radiology unit and associated car park.

The project will be handed over in stages, with the first set to be completed in 2021.

Georgiou Group building general manager Steve Okill said the award highlighted its relationship with Ramsay Health Care

“We recently completed the new consulting centre and are finishing works on the new mental health unit at Hollywood Hospital, where our team has showcased their strengths in service integrations and working within the constraints of a live hospital environment,” Mr Okill said.

“Having delivered a number of medical upgrades over the past decade, we look forward to bringing together our experienced team to deliver another piece of vital medical infrastructure to the Nedlands campus for our client Ramsay Health Care.”

The announcement comes two weeks after Georgiou Group was named the preferred proponent for the City of Perth’s east end revitalisation project.

The project, worth $10 million, consists of upgrades to Hay Street, Pier Street and Irwin Street, the construction of a new plaza and the installation of public artwork.

Georgiou Group also recently secured two projects in the eastern states, including $94 million worth of civil and infrastructure works with logistics company QUBE Holdings in New South Wales, and a $37 million contract to undertake walkway refurbishments for the Brisbane City Council.  

According to the BNiQ database, Georgiou Group is the eighth largest construction company in WA.
