GR selected for Nullagine restart works

GR Engineering Services has secured new work with Canada’s Novo Resources Corporation for its Nullagine goldmine in the Pilbara.

The asset is owned by Novo’s Australian subsidiary, Millennium Minerals, based in Belmont.

Novo is planning to restart the Nullagine mine and processing plant early next year, after the operation was shut down in December 2019 when Millennium went into voluntary administration.

It followed months of consecutive capital raisings to support the Nullagine goldmine, with Millennium delisting from the ASX in May this year.

GR Engineering has been tasked with upgrading the Nullagine plant’s gravity circuit and associated facilities under a new $8.3 million contract.

Its shares closed up nearly 1 per cent to trade at $1.08.

Novo said it had selected GR Engineering based on the contractor’s experience in gold plant construction and refurbishment throughout Australia.

That includes with Saracen Mineral Holdings, which contracted GR Engineering in late June for work at the goldminer’s Thunderbox and Carosue Dam operations in Western Australia.

Meanwhile. Novo has also contracted Kalgoorlie Power Systems to restore power to the Nullagine infrastructure and Pilbara Resource Group to complete camp upgrades.
