Fintech startup Finch, which was jointly established by former Perth business adviser and 40under40 award winner Toby Gardner, has completed a $2.25 million capital raising.
The Finch app, which is billed as the ‘financial app for your social life’, allows users to run tabs, split bills, pay friends and track their spending.
Founders Shahirah and Toby Gardner, now located in Melbourne, closed their $2.25 million Silicon Valley seed round this week.
In January, Finch became the first international startup selected to participate in Envestnet, a six-month US program to help entrepreneurs launch products that leverage financial data.
Envestnet was recently ranked the best fintech program in the US.
The app was launched in Australia in July and uses data intelligence, behavioural psychology and gamification to help build financial confidence among Finch’s target market of Australian millennials.
Users can pay and request money to any mobile phone number in Australia without the need for bank account details.
