Recently-departed MACA chief executive Chris Tuckwell has returned to Ausdrill to oversee its African operations.
Ausdrill announced today Mr Tuckwell would take on the newly created role of chief operating officer – African operations.
The company has four key divisions in Africa, providing surface and underground contract mining and exploration drilling services throughout West Africa, drilling and blasting services in Tanzania, and is also targeting further opportunities in East Africa through a Zambian operation.
Mr Tuckwell spent 13 years at Ausdrill in a variety of senior roles between 1994 and 2007.
“We are pleased to welcome Chris Tuckwell back to Ausdrill, and look forward to his contribution to the continuing development and growth of our businesses in Africa,” managing director Ron Sayers said.
“We believe there are tremendous opportunities in Africa, and will continue to invest in people and equipment in order to meet our customers' requirements and pursue further growth.”
At 9:45AM, WST, Ausdrill shares were down 3 cents, at $3.18.
