Work on the Campbell Street site is expected to start in June 2011 and once completed the proposed development will include 75 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments plus approximately 425 square metres of commercial space.
Diploma has enlisted JCY Architect to develop the concept for the site.
'It is our intention to ensure the building has been designed for the WA climate,' said Diploma properties general manager Armando Rossi.
'This includes maximising natural light, encouraging cross-ventilation, orienting the building to capture prevailing breezes and introducing a Building Management System to minimise inappropriate or unnecessary energy consumption,' said Mr Rossi.
This is Diploma's second residential project at the west end of the Perth CBD.

Diploma Group today announced it has been selected as the Department of Housing's preferred partner for a $35 million residential and commercial development at Lot 303, Campbell Street in West Perth, Western Australia.
Upon completion, the development is proposed to include a minimum of 75 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments plus approximately 425m2 of commercial space.
Diploma enlisted the skills of award-winning Perth architects, JCY Architects, to develop a concept for the site that maximises the potential of its inner-city location and has a strong focus on sustainability.
This is Diploma's second residential project in the west end of the Perth CBD and the Group currently has a $40m development under construction at 1178 Hay Street which upon completion will include 4500m2 of commercial space and 33 boutique offices.
'Diploma secured 95% pre-sales at 1178 Hay Street during challenging market conditions and the building is now well underway so we understand what the market is looking for at this end of town,' said Mr Rossi.
'This announcement also comes at the same time as we finalise the Development Management Agreement for Pier Street Northbridge near the Perth CBD so we look forward to delivering two new high quality residential developments in partnership with the Department of Housing,' Mr Rossi continued.
Work is expected to commence on site in June 2011 with completion scheduled in December 2012.
