Deloitte is expanding its Perth change management services, acquiring two new partners and 22 staff from The Terrace Initiative.
The new staff will join the global accounting company’s Human Capital Consulting practice on May 1.
A specialist in change management for mining and transport businesses, The Terrace Initiative was established in 2013 by joint chief executives Melissa Bell and Corrie Scheepers.
Ms Bell and Mr Scheepers will join Deloitte as partners in Perth, to head up a new change team, part of Deloitte’s Organisation Transformation practice.
Twenty two of The Terrace Initiative’s 49 staff will also join Deloitte’s Perth offices, with others joining in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, as well as Cape Town, South Africa.
“In our view, some of the most exciting innovations in Australia happen in Perth,” Mr Scheepers said.
“The resources sector is leading the country in value chain optimisation and automation, in innovative business models, and in exciting ways to deploy cutting-edge technology to keep people and assets safe and secure.
“Such cutting-edge innovation requires cutting-edge, data-driven approaches to delivering and embedding change.
“Joining Deloitte – a global leader in change management - will help accelerate our growth plans.”
Deloitte Perth managing partner Michael McNulty said The Terrace Initiative team would bring sought-after expertise, particularly in the mining and transport areas.
“This expertise boosts our wide ranging and complementary services in the Perth market, bringing a strong track record in using the best technology to drive innovation for some of the most cutting edge companies in the world,” he said.
Deloitte Human Capital lead partner David Brown said the team would be hugely complementary to the change management practice.
“The world of work is rapidly changing,” he said.
“The future of work, workers and the workplace are all being disrupted by technology, in a myriad of ways.
“Successful change initiatives and inspired cultures rely on agile, flexible and innovative leaders, and the effective use of data will become increasingly important.”
