Recently established marketing company Aspyre aims to take its magazine, Curve, into Asia in order to develop new markets for Western Australian fashion.
Aspyre partner Peter Hoskins said the reason behind the expansion of the lifestyle and fashion magazine was to promote the local fashion industry and to further develop a rapport within the Asian market.
“Our first issue of Curve will hit the streets in Singapore in September,” he said.
“We are going to take it to Singapore, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. We are looking to take Western Australian expertise to the Asian market and also reciprocate in terms of bringing a lot of their fashion down here.”
Mr Hoskins said the creation of Aspyre would be the impetus for the growth of WA fashion, arts and lifestyle into the Asian market.
“In 18 months we hope to be Perth’s biggest event, publishing and marketing company and very active in the South-East Asian region,” he said. “Our research has already shown us that, when it comes to fashion and the arts, Asia wants what WA has to offer, and through Aspyre we will be working hard that they get it.”
Aspyre partner and Cape Lambert executive chairman Tony Sage said the multi-faceted company was already advanced in developing a number of publishing, events and marketing initiatives.
He said the company, which officially opened three weeks ago, had taken more than two years to establish, with capital provided by a number of partners from within Perth’s corporate world.
