Clublinks Management has been appointed operator of the Links Kennedy Bay golf course, as part of the $425 million Kennedy Bay coastal development.
The Links Kennedy Bay golf course has been designed by former pro golfer Graham Marsh, and will sit within the new Kennedy Bay master-planned community, which is being developed by Western Australia Beach and Golf Resort (WABGR).
The reconfiguration of the existing 18-hole golf course is under way, which involves retaining nine holes and relocating the other nine, as part of the improved design.
In addition to the revamped golf course, over the next eight years the new master-planned project will redevelop about 66 hectares into 900 residential lots, as well as a commercial and retail town centre.
Property consultancy Place Development Australia appointed Clublinks Management following a competition selection process to identify an experienced golf course operator with the capability and capacity to manage the golf course and clubhouse, including the restaurant, bar, alfresco terrace and golf shop.
“Clublinks has proven capability to facilitate and maintain access to a high-quality golf course in a highly-dynamic environment,” Place Development Australia director David Roberts said.
“The team’s exciting vision, to deliver a healthy, vibrant, integrated and considered recreational and golfing precinct, very much aligns with our own.
“Clublinks is a first-class golf operator with a proven ability to engage with community and deliver highly-relevant recreational destinations that appeal to abroad audience.
“We are very confident in Clublinks’ ability to operate a dynamic, accessible and vibrant golf course and club house.”
Clublinks operates 10 facilities including five golf courses across New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.
In WA, the group operates The Cut Golf Course, Collier Park Golf Course and the Toodyay Recreation Centre.
Works on the Links Kennedy Bay golf course reconfiguration are due to commence shortly, targeting completion in 2023.
Construction of the new Kennedy Bay Clubhouse is also nearing completion and is set to open in October this year.
Clublinks chief executive Anthony Lawrence said the group was looking forward to partnering with Place Development Australia in managing Links Kennedy Bay.
“We manage great facilities with terrific partners across Australia and the inclusion of Links Kennedy Bay fits with this,” Mr Lawrence said.
“Links Kennedy Bay is a quality facility, evidenced by being ranked number 10 in Australia’s best public access golf courses 2021.
“We are excited about the future, with the new clubhouse and course works enhancing this facility even further.”
