Cash to lead Millennium

Local gold miner Millennium Minerals has found an internal candidate to replace outgoing chief executive Glenn Dovaston, who has resigned after two years at the helm.

Mr Dovaston will be succeeded by Millennium general manager corporate development Peter Cash, who has served in his current position for two years.

Mr Cash, who will receive a base salary of $370,000 plus superannuation and incentives, has previously held positions at other ASX-listed companies including Talisman Mining, Focus Minerals and CRA Exploration.

His appointment follows the recruitment of former Doray Minerals chairman Peter Lester as a non-executive director, and Gregory Bittar as chairman.

“Peter has extensive knowledge of Nullagine and what is required to ensure it continues to perform strongly and develop for the future,” Mr Bittar said.

“This knowledge, combined with his experience in capital markets, means Peter is ideally placed to lead Millennium as we seek to capitalise on the company’s strong cash flow, debt-free balance sheet and extensive exploration potential.”

Millennium shares closed 1.8 per cent higher to 27.5 cents each.
