Perth-based gold explorer Carrick Gold Ltd chairman Frank Carr has kept up his buying in the company with a $247,500 purchase last week, bringing the value of his stake to over $36 million.
Mr Carr’s interests in listed companies in which he has board membership is currently valued at over $44 million.
His 36.8 million shares, worth $36.4 million earlier this week, dominate the register at Carrick, which currently has 39.6 million shares on issue and a market capitalisation of $37.6 million.
He is also executive chairman of Shannon Resources Ltd, a float handled by his corporate advisory firm Noble Pacific Ltd.
He is the company’s top shareholder with a 9.6 million share stake in Shannon, 38.4 per cent of total issued capital, valued at approximately $6 million.
The gold and nickel explorer has been one of the state’s best performing IPO stocks this year.
Since listing in mid-July, the gold and nickel explorer has witnessed highs of 92 cents. or a 360 per cent gain. from its issue price of 20 cents.
Recently the stock was trading at 62 cents with a market capitalisation of over $8 million.
Mr Carr is also on the board of medical technology company Telezon Ltd, which emerged from admini-stration in 2003 and has since raised $2.2 million.
He currently holds 5.45 million shares in the company valued at approximately $1.9 million.
Last week, Telezon Ltd acquired the remaining 49 percent interest of SS&B Technology Pty Ltd patents and technology not owned under the agreement between Stevens Smith & Bartlett Pty Ltd and SSB.
Telezon has completed all the pre-conditions for full ownership of the SSB patents and technology, covering the plastic hypodermic needle and related products.
A long-time player in the technology business, Mr Carr earlier this year quit as a director of Voicenet Inc, a foreign entity. Mr Carr used to be a director of listed group Voicenet (Aust) Ltd, formerly Southern Group Ltd, which is now air purification and air sterilisation company AFT Corporation Ltd.
