GREENS candidate Adele Carles claimed a historic victory in a Fremantle by-election over mayor Peter Tagliaferri. Ms Carles is the first Green MP to be elected in a state election in the lower house, anywhere in Australia. Ms Carles made history by claiming the prized Labor seat, which it has held since 1924.
