Carbon grows with $1.6m in acquisitions

Diversified firm Carbon Business Group is continuing its expansion with the acquisition of Swan Valley Tax Accountants and Paperchase Bookkeeping’s Midland division for a combined $1.28 million.

The accounting, bookkeeping, business systems, insurance and finance company will rename the two businesses Carbon East and Carbon North East, with the group now operating out of four Western Australian offices.

Last month, Carbon acquired Bibra Lake-based GLC Business Solutions for $350,000 and rebranded it as Carbon South.

With the combined staff from the acquisitions, Carbon now has about 50 employees on its payroll.

“We’ve identified these as growth areas which we want to be a part of as strategic locations,” Carbon co-founder Jamie Davison said.

“Beyond that we found GLC, Paperchase and Swan Valley Tax to be like-minded in their approach to helping small businesses, making it a perfect fit all round.”

Nathan Hood, Carbon’s other co-founder, said the group had an exceptional first year of business, and the second year was already exceeding expectations.

Carbon became the result of a merger between Sterling Accountants and Fortuna Bravado Bookkeepers last year.
