The premier and the member for Fremantle Adele Carles have been cleared of any misconduct by the Corruption and Crime Commission, over an alleged voting arrangement in return for an extra staffer.
Last month, it was revealed Colin Barnett and Adele Carles had met to talk about extra staffing, but Mr Barnett maintained he did not tell her that there were any strings attached.
Ms Carles said the discussion included her supporting the government on supply and confidence motions
He said the member for Kalgoorlie and the member for Alfred Cove already have similar arrangements with the government.
In a statement today, CCC Commissioner Len Roberts-Smith QC said that advice from an independent senior barrister indicated that the alleged arrangement between Ms Carles and the Government would not have been in breach of the Criminal Code.
"As Ms Carles did not stand to gain a personal benefit from the alleged arrangement, her actions could not be described as improper," he said.
"There is also the precedent of similar agreements such as that between the Federal Government and Independent Members Mr Tony Windsor and Mr Rob Oakshott."
The Commissioner said the possible benefit Mr Barnett received from the alleged arrangement could not be said to have been obtained corruptly.
