Perth town planner and 2007 Archibald Prize finalist Peter Ciemitis is part of a group of 18 town planners that has decided to show off a different creative angle by hosting an art exhibition later this month.
Mr Ciemitis said the exhibition would feature figurative work, which explores human relationships and the human psyche, as well as abstract work and landscapes.
Mr Ciemitis is unable to show his portrait of renowned environmental planner George Seddon because it is currently on tour with the other artworks from the Archibald Prize finalists.
However, he said he was exhibiting the developmental theory behind the painting, Making Sense of Place #4.
Mr Ciemitis, who is a town planner for Roberts Day, was the only Western Australian finalist in the 2007 Archibald Prize.
Also on show is an artwork from the Department of Planning and Infrastructures deputy director-general Dorte Ekeland.
Others to exhibit include architect Ralph Stanton, as well as City of Melville director of strategic urban planning Craig McClure and Perth Hills artist Jeremy Holton.
