The Bremer Bay Resort and the historic Geraldton Freemasons Hotel are among the half a dozen country pubs and motels poised to change hands after hitting the property market.
After 20 years under the same ownership, the Bremer Bay Resort is up for sale seeking offers above $5.5 million for the motel, restaurant, and tavern.
The 1.19-hectare lot located on Frantom Way near the southern coastline features 21 detached motel rooms, a restaurant and two bars, which makes it one of two watering holes in the town.
The sellers are the Joy family, namely Mel Joy, who bought the asset for $1.1 million in 2003.
Listing agent Peter Worsfold from Zephyr Real Estate said the property, which hit the market in December, was in a prime location in Bremer Bay.
“It's got amazing views over the Fitzgerald National Park and the river mouth, and all around the property you can take in these views,” he said.
“The building has a really nice and comfortable vibe, and it has got some real character about it that just makes you want to relax with the views in such an awesome spot in town.”
Mr Worsfold said that, given the property’s foothold, there was ample opportunity for potential buyers to expand the venue to take it to the next level.
Further, Mr Worsfold said the property had garnered a lot of interest, which he said was due to the town’s growing popularity as a tourist destination, with attractions such as the orca tours.

The Bremer Bay asset is among the half a dozen country pubs and motels on the market, including 79 Marine Terrace in Geraldton, known as the Freemasons Hotel.
The heritage building was put up for sale in July 2023 with a listing price of $1.8 million, and asset is currently under contract, according to the Professionals Geraldton.
Another pub on the market is the Donnybrook Hotel, which was listed for $2.8 million and features a bar and restaurant, a beer garden and 14 rooms.
The Badgingarra Tavern is up for sale with an asking price of $699,000, according to real estate firm Tyler & Sons’ website.
Located in Badgingarra about 200 kilometres north of Perth, the tavern was established in 1978 and has 11 self-contained accommodation units, a bar and two beer gardens.
Also up for sale in the South West is the Burlington Hotel in Bunbury, after 30 years of ownership by the Mayne family.
The two-storey restaurant, bar and accommodation venue temporarily closed during the pandemic in 2020 but has since reopened.
Other country pubs on the market are the National Hotel in Sandstone, the Morawa Hotel and the Yalgoo Pub, all located in the Mid West region.
The Gilgai Tavern in Kalbarri, the Quest Yelverton Kalgoorlie and the Royal Hotel in Kojonup are also on the market.
