A NEW corporate synergy is likely to emerge between WA engineering consultants Dames & Moore Pty Ltd and Woodward Clyde.
These leading Australian engineering, transport and environmental consulting companies are currently undergoing a major planned merger.
This follows the take over of parent company Dames & Moore in the US by consulting engineering giant URS Corporation.
The Wall Street-listed corporation, which has 300 offices and 16,000 employees acquired the parent company of Woodward Clyde some years ago and Dames & Moore in July last year.
A consulting engineering source said the merger would benefit both companies which are expected to expand operations in Australia and into the Asian Pacific region.
A URS Corporation spokesman said a name change and further details would be made available in a few months time.
