Unisys West was created in 2002 as a joint venture of HBOS subsidiary BankWest and US-based Unisys Australia Ltd, enabling the bak to outsource management of its Perth-based IT infrastructure.
HBOS Australia head of IT infrastructure Dan O'Neill said the company's new growth strategy required an investment and implementation of new long-term IT solutions.
"While the contract with Unisys West will end according to its original term, we expect both companies will continue into the future with a strong relationship," he said.
The ending of the cotnract will see a majority of information technology services currently undertaken by Unisys West moved in-house to HBOS Australia.
The bank is currently in negotiations with Unisys Austrawlia to decide what it will do with its 49 per cent stake in the venture.
Unisys West recorded a net profit in the 12 months ending December 31 of $8.1 million, on revenue of $79.7 million.
This compared with a net profit of $5.4 million in the previous year and revenue of $62.1 million.
The company also recently implemented a $21 million infrastructure overhaul of the judiciary's IT systems in Western Australia.

HBOS Australia has confirmed the IT contract between BankWest and Unisys West will end December 2007.
HBOS Australia Head of IT Infrastructure Dan O'Neill made the announcement in addition to identifying other key outcomes as a result of recent discussions between the two organisations.
"While the contract with Unisys West will end according to its original term, we expect both companies will continue into the future with a strong relationship," he said.
The ending of the contract will see a majority of information technology services currently undertaken by Unisys West moved in-house to HBOS Australia.
Mr O'Neill said both Unisys West and HBOS Australia had been working together to ensure a smooth changeover.
"The aggressive growth strategy of HBOS Australia requires us to invest and implement advanced new long-term IT solutions for our national growth expansion," he said. "We will also continue to deliver the majority of the HBOSA Group's national IT requirements from Western Australia."
Increases in IT services undertaken by HBOS Australia will mean the organisation will also hire new staff.
HBOS Australia will continue negotiations with Unisys Australia to decide what it will do with BankWest's 49 per cent share in Unisys West.
Unisys West was created in 2002 as a joint venture between Unisys Australia and BankWest.
Mr O'Neill said HBOS Australia was committed to continuing the journey towards being a major financial service provider in Australia.
"Information technology is a critical component of this journey and integral to our growth both in Western Australia and on the east coast," he said.
