Accounting firm BDO has announced the appointment of Pippa Hobson as chair of the Perth office.
Ms Hobson is a current partner of BDO Australia, as well as a committee member for the Australian Institute of Internal Auditors.
She has more than 20 years’ experience in internal and external audit, governance and risk advisory, working with clients across all sectors, including the public sector, listed and non-listed companies in the private sector and not-for-profit entities.
“I am honoured by this appointment and look forward to playing a key role in driving the future of BDO in Perth and continuing to deliver to exceptional service and value to all our clients,” Ms Hobson said.
Her industry experience includes government, financial services, food and beverage, manufacturing, not for profit and utilities.
“Pippa joined BDO as partner in our advisory practice in February 2018, bringing with her a wealth of experience, insights and knowledge that have made a positive impact on the business in the relatively short time she has been with us,” WA managing partner Peter Toll said.
According to a reprasentative from BDO, the role of chair is responsible for governance, and represents the leadership of the firm from a market facing perspective, while Peter Toll as managing partner oversees day-to-day operations and drives strategy.
Ms Hobson succeeds Sherif Andrawes, who has been chair of the firm since 2009, and was appointed as Global Natural Resources leader in April this year.
He will continue his role as leader of BDO Perth’s corporate finance practice.
“I am thoroughly enjoying my global role working with my colleagues across the world to share ideas and further build on the strength of our capabilities that address the issues and emerging challenges our clients are facing in this sector,” Mr Andrawes said.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Pippa on her appointment, and look forward to continuing to work with her and Peter Toll as they guide the future direction of BDO in WA.”
