One of Asia’s largest real estate companies is looking to capture more of Perth’s business travel market with a rebranding of its central city serviced apartments.
Singaporean company The Ascott Limited - owned by CapitaLand - has completed a $5.1 million refurbishment of its Somerset St George’s Terrace accommodation to bring it in line with its Citadines brand.
Now known as the Citadines Apart’hotel, the apartments are intended to appeal to both the business travel and family market, whereas the Somerset was largely aimed at relaxed family travel.
Ascott’s Regional General Manager for Australia and Indonesia Kenneth Rogers said the company wanted to provide a service to those travelling independently.
“Bringing Citadines to Perth will enable us to strengthen our foothold in the city as demand for serviced residences remains strong from the resource and mining sectors,” he said.
The Citadines brand of apartments are modelled on the Paris accommodation, and so brings a European flavour to central Perth.
