PR firm CGM Communications has hired Stuart Crockett to lead its new trade and investment communications practice. Mr Crockett most recently served as commissioner in the WA government’s China office in Shanghai. He has previously worked as executive director, trade and investment, in the Department of State Development, now called the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
Matthew Bronickis has been named chair of the Freight and Logistics Council of Western Australia. For the past year, Mr Bronickis has worked as the industry liaison and on the taskforce of the council. He works as a freelance logistics and transport sector consultant and serves as chair of the WA Port Operations Taskforce. Mr Bronickis was previously the general manager WA at MoveIt4u.
Pragma Lawyers has promoted special counsel Libbi McLean to director. A specialist employment lawyer, Ms McLean has previously worked at Minter Ellison, Squire Patton Boggs and the Australian Hotels Association WA. Sophia Kailis, who specialises in dispute resolution, has been promoted from senior associate to special counsel. Elizabeth Keen and Nick Malone will now be senior associates at the firm.
Ben Killigrew has been appointed general manager of west coast operations at surveying company MNG. Dr Killigrew has had a varied career, most recently working as the chief operating officer at the Town of Victoria Park. He served as Brendon Grylls chief of staff, as associate director of advisory at KPMG and a senior project manager at LandCorp.
The Australia-Africa Minerals & Energy Group has made Lycopodium managing director Peter De Leo its chair. Mr De Leo has served on the board since 2018, with two terms as vice chair. Starting at Lycopodium in 1994, Mr De Leo has spent much of his career at the engineering firm, working in roles including general manager – operations and managing director of Lycopodium Minerals before being appointed to his current position.
