Rocky Bay has appointed Trent Bartlett as its chair, replacing the long-serving Susan Male. With more than 30 years of experience in non-executive and chief executive roles, Mr Bartlett is a course facilitator at the Australian Institute of Company Directors and offers coaching and mentoring services to leaders. He is chair of Good Samaritan Enterprises, Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association and Travellers Choice.
Isabelle Deschamps will be chief legal officer and external affairs at Rio Tinto, starting on October 25. Ms Deschamps is currently the general counsel of AzkoNobel, where she has worked since 2018. Before joining AzkoNobel, Ms Deschamps spent six years at Unilever in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands and worked at Nestle.
Craig Amos has become a partner at RSM’s Perth office, specialising in corporate mergers and acquisitions and capital markets advisory services. Mr Amos has more than 20 years’ experience in finance, strategy, mergers and acquisitions and corporate development, as an adviser, and most recently as chief financial officer at Velrada. Mr Amos is a board member at telecommunications company Pentanet.
Alzheimer's WA has appointed Ella Dachs as chief executive. Ms Dachs has more than 20 years of delivering organisational structural redesigns in Asia, the UK, South Africa and Australia. She is co-founder of the Indo-Asia Centre for Digital Health Innovation & Commercialisation. She has been on the board of Alzheimer's WA since 2019.
Rachael Whitworth has been hired by Perth Festival as head of programming. Ms Whitworth has worked at Performing Lines WA since 2011 as a producer before being promoted to senior producer in 2018. She joins the festival with nearly 30 years of professional experience as a performer, educator, producer and manager; and experience working for companies including Spare Parts Puppet Theatre.
Mark Hyde is joining Lavan as special counsel in the reconstruction, recovery and insolvency team and Jennifer Tropiano has been promoted to special counsel. Most recently, Mr Hyde was a senior associate at HopgoodGanim Lawyers. Ms Tropiano started working at Lavan in 2018 as a senior associate after working at Squire Patton Boggs and DLA Piper. Mandee de Reus, Mary Roseingrave and Ching Yee Tan have been made senior associates at the firm.
Colin Judd has been appointed chief financial officer at Oilex. A chartered accountant, Mr Judd was a founding member and chief financial officer at Star Energy before it was sold to Petronas. He also co-founded Trans European Oil & Gas.
