Former Fremantle resident Gavin Brown has appeared before the Fremantle Magistrates Court on six charges of market manipulation laid by ASIC.
The charges, which relate to Mr Brown’s trading of shares in Astron Limited between August and December 2001, were laid by ASIC after an investigation arising from a referral from the ASX.
ASIC has alleged the 32-year-old Mr Brown placed orders through three brokers in a manner that was likely to create a false or misleading appearance regarding the market for Astron Limited.
Mr Brown was not required to enter a plea and was bailed to reappear in March.
