Western Australia’s corporate finance sector is undergoing a shuffle at the top, with recent appointments at Macquarie Bank, Deloitte and Merrill Lynch.
Martin Alciaturi has joined Macquarie Bank as head of corporate finance in WA, filling the vacancy created by Neville Gardiner’s recent move to Merrill Lynch, where he has assumed the position of head of investment banking for natural resources in Australia.
Mr Alciaturi has spent the past decade as head of Ernst & Young’s transaction advisory division in Perth.
In his new role at Macquarie, Mr Alciaturi will be responsible for the origination and execution of resources and industrial mergers and acquisitions, as well as equity market transactions.
Ernst & Young have not yet confirmed Mr Alciaturi’s replacement, while Mr Gardiner is understood to be actively looking at growing a Perth team, although Merrill Lynch are yet to confirm any new appointments.
Hugh Thomas has been promoted to head of corporate finance at Deloitte in Perth, after the retirement of Tom Henderson.
Mr Thomas, who previously worked for competitor KPMG, has been at Deloitte since 2004.
