About the West Australian's new editor...

Brian Rogers has done well to win the job of editor at The West Australian newspaper, though his appointment is causing some catty comments from the staff.

The problem seems to be Brian’s track record and his success in running Channel Nine news in Perth.

Don’t be silly, kids. Brian has done brilliantly, regularly winning the ratings. What, you say that’s not so? Oh, he actually came third. Out of how many in the race? Oh, three.

Never mind, in the new job he will always win the ratings. How many in the race? Oh.
