IT services provider ASG Group today announced it has been awarded a new contract to provide Infrastructure Managed Services to the Federal Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government.
The national contract is valued at an estimated $30 million over the contracted period. This incorporates an initial 4 year period with an option to extend the contract for an additional 4 years.
This is ASG's largest Federal Government contract to date and will be managed out of the Company's Federal Region office in Canberra.
It also represents a further boost to ASG's growing bank of contracts where it supplies utility-style services to customers over extended terms.
These services involve the supply and management of the Department's IT assets, which include desktops, laptops, servers and printers.
ASG will also provide a comprehensive service desk for all Departmental staff.
ASG customers now include the Office of Shared Services (WA), Victorian Department of Education, Department of Human Services, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Qantas, Ericsson/Hutchison and Inpex.
Over the past 3 years, ASG has made a major investment in a national platform - technology, process and personnel - that enables the profitable delivery of large scale IT utility services at low risk.
The ASG platform is scalable and will support substantially higher levels of activity.
ASG General Manager Federal Region Richard Everett said the Department of Infrastructure contract was a strategic win and a reflection of ASG's major investment in a high performance platform for servicing the federal government sector.
"We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and to have a long term relationship with the Department on delivering service for its national IT infrastructure," said Mr Everett.
"There are a number of Federal-level tenders coming up in the next few months and we believe this latest contract win with the Federal Government positions ASG very well to further build our position in this very important market.
"We look forward to bringing to bear our broad government experience and national capability in delivering this project over the next four years."
The new contract follows ASG's recent announcement that it has secured $75m worth of multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts with a range of existing and new customers including Multiplex, Virgin Blue, Ericsson/Hutchison and Inpex.
Mr Everett added that ASG continued to bid for a number of contracts in both the government and corporate sectors.
"The Department of Infrastructure contract is a good example of the kind of opportunities that are in the pipeline - both government and corporate - and we look to the next six months with great expectations of further contracts," he said.
