The past week has seen the State Government award just over $60 million in contracts for four projects in WA’s Gascoyne and Kimberly regions.
Emco Building was awarded a $40 million contract to construct a new police and justice complex in Carnarvon. The Osborne Park-based builder is currently undertaking a number of construction projects for educational bodies, including UWA’s Albany campus, Guilford Grammar School, Edith Cowan University and Churchlands SHS.
A $12.5 million contract was also awarded to Broome-based construction company Norbuilt for work at Derby District High School, with funds for this project allocated through the Royalties for Regions program.
Norbuilt, which works in both WA and the Northern Territory, has previously completed projects at for the Department of Defence, Broome Hospital and Broome Prison.
Queensland-based Ri-Con Contractors was awarded a $2.5 million contract for upgrades at the Kimberly TAFE campus, including the construction of a new automotive training workshop.
Another $5.5 million contract was awarded to Geraldton Building Services and Cabinets for work at the Roebourne Children and Family Centre.
