XiaoPing Yang

Dr XiaoPing Yang is a chemical engineer with over 30 years of international and multi-cultural business experience in the US and Asia. She has a passion for clean energy and has direct experience with solar, hydrogen and energy storage technologies, strategic business development and expansion, manufacturing and operations, risk management, sales and marketing, and public & government affairs.

Dr Yang was chair and president of BP China and has held a variety of international executive roles at BP during her 30-year tenure including technical and executive leadership roles, as a board committee member within BP’s Group downstream and new energy frontier businesses which included accountability of chemicals manufacturing operations.

Dr Yang holds a Bachelor of Science from Jiangnan University China, a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University in the US, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

She is highly recognised for her extraordinary contributions in business and has received distinguished honours including Outstanding Business Female by Forbes China 2019, Women of the Year 2020 by Entrepreneur Magazine’s Business, 2020 Top Global Female Influencers in Energy by Oil and Gas Councils, and 2020 Outstanding Chemical Engineering Award from the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University.
