The seaside suburb of Cottesloe is attracting boutique fund managers who don’t feel they need to be in the city.
Willy Packer has been involved in the investment industry since 1980. He gained experience internationally as an institutional dealer and adviser in Japanese and Far Eastern equities and locally as an industrial analyst for two Perth stockbroking firms. In 1989 he become a director and major equity holder in local stockbroking firm Porter Western, which was subsequently bought by Macquarie Bank. In 1993 he established Packer & Co.
